Todd Proctor

Todd Proctor's journey to Small Studio took him across the globe and the nation, reaching out to the wilds of Surfers Paradise and the grey streets of London.

He started as a student at the Australian Academy of Design, then buckled up and travelled north to complete his Diploma (in Graphic Design) on the sun-kissed shores of Surfers Paradise.

There he went to work in a printing and publishing company, feeding his appetite for the 'off-screen' process and delighting in the use of 'old school' materials like pens, paper and scalpels. In time, he was promoted from the pre-press guts of the organisation to Art Director on a magazine.

After honing his skills in the publishing sector he moved to a design company with a focus on hospitality and entertainment.

But Todd eventually tired of the Gold Coast and returned to Melbourne, starting at Small Studio as its first employee . Before joining as a Director, Todd and his wife moved overseas where he freelanced with a range of studios in London including Reactive and B1.

The time finally came when Todd longed for the coffee-scented and street-arted paves of Melbourne.

When he returned in 2010 he caught up with his old comrade - and now co-director - Paul Kotz. They had always shared the same philosophy and enjoyed working together. Now they share the same business.
